In October, the first snowfall arrived at this fresh beaver pond in the Chase Bog Wetland Complex, Dalton, NH. This wetland was inventoried as part of Dalton’s NRI project and later through a detailed wetland assessment.

In 2003 we conducted a Natural Resource Inventory of the Town of Northfield, NH. During the field work portion of the NRI, we found a great blue heron rookery while following a series of beaver ponds. These three herons were not quite ready to fledge and stood like statures. We left the area quickly to minimize our disturbance.
